Noted events in his life were: • Biography. Jan DeWitt, baptized in Kingston in 1666, had baptismal sponsors named as "Marten Hoffman and Jan Andrieese (Hoes page 5)." It is presumed that Jan Andriese was the brother of Barbara Andries, mother of Jan DeWitt. • Biography. Jan Andriessen of Dublin buys liquor excise from William Frederickse Bout for 150 guilders. • Occupation. Jan was a sealer of weights and measures and a gauger. • Court, Tuesday, June 16, 1654. 773 Jan Adriaensen, plaintiff, against Evert Pels, defendant, for the sum of forty-four beavers and six otters, amounting together to the sum of four hundred guilders, in part payment of which the plaintiff, or his agent has accepted an account against the honoraboe company for wages earned by the defendant, according to a power of attorney given to Jan Jansz from Gottenborg in favor of Willem houttum. The aforesaid account amounts to two hudred and eighty-five guilders and four stivers, so that there is still due to the plaintiff on acount of his master, Willem Houttum, or whoever it may concern, the sum of one hundred and fourteen guilders, sixtgeen stivers. • Court. Teunis Cray, Plaintiff versus Jan andriessen, defendant. Plaintiff demands from defendant sixteen guilders. Defendants says, he paid him eight guilders n stone and sent him eight guilders more to his house, but that they would not receive it. Plaintiff replies and says, the stone were to be taken for board on condition, that he should give him a dog, which he did, but the boys have killed the dog. The Court ordered the plaintiff to prove, that he agreed for the stone for board. Jan married Margaret Dorn in New Amsterdam. |
