Noted events in her life were: • Living, until 1898, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. After Edwin Martin died, Eve came home to Cortland, Nebraska with her little son, Elmo. We had quite a house full with seven children of our own still living at home. Eve and Elmo lived with us for three years and we sure became attached to our grandson. Our son Frank was very attached to little Elmo. • Living: Humphreys, Sullivan, Missouri, USA. Eve and John Crossley had twin infant sons that died during their infancy and are buried in the Cortland Cemetary. Following this dark moment in their lives, they moved to Humphrey's, Missouri. Eve married Edwin Martin on 22 Dec 1895. (Edwin Martin was born about 1865 and died on 15 Aug 1898 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas 2.) Noted events in their marriage were: • Moved. 2 Shortly after their marriage they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where they lived until Edwin succumbed to typhoid and died on August 15, 1898. Marriage Notes: Edwin Martin was a brother of Samuel Martin who married Cora Chenney, Eve's stepsister. Edwin had two sons from a previous marriage named Burt and Charles Martin. Eve next married John Crossley, on 16 Oct 1901. (John Crossley, was born on 29 Jul 1859 in Pittsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died on 20 Jun 1931 in Humphreys, Sullivan, Missouri, USA.) Noted events in their marriage were: • death. After John's death on June 20, 1931, Eve and Hattie lived together until Hattie's death in 1938. |
