  Noted events in his life were:

• settled. I was the first of the family to settle in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. I purchased a small farm near Chambers Hill, which I cultivated in addition to attending to my trade as a stonemason. My trade occupied the greater part of my time, as I was known to be reliable and conscientious. My work was in demand through out that section of the County. I was prominent in the local affairs of the time and was respected throughout the County.
