Noted events in his life were: • fled, 1740. In 1740, I fled from Switzerland to the home of friends that lived near Kerbach, Germany. I was being persecuted by the Church of Switzerland for being a Mennonite. • ordained. I was ordained a minister in the Mennonite Denomination while living in Germany. • Widowed, Bef 1744. Following the death of my first wife, I decided to immigrate to the Pennsylvania Colony. I came to the colony in the company of my widowed mother, my sister and three brothers: Jacob, William and Henry. We sailed on the ship, "Muscliff Galley". • Ministered. I was one of the pastors in the Springfield Mennonite Meetinghouse in Buck County, Pennsylvania. Peter married Magdalena Clymer, daughter of Christian Clymer and Barbara Unknown, on 28 May 1752. (Magdalena Clymer was born about 1734.) |
