Noted events in her life were: • Surname History. 778 Stauffer means a chalice or drinking cup. As late as A.D. 1100 they were cupbearers of dukes. According to tradition the Stauffers owe their origin to a generation of Knights called Stauffacher at Hohenstauffer. It is presumed that all of the Stauffers have the same origin and are connected and have their origin from the House of Hohenstauffer founded by Fredric of Buren. Esther married Jacob Clymer, son of Christian Clymer and Barbara Unknown, on 29 May 1760. (Jacob Clymer was born about 1729 in Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and died in 1802 in Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.) Marriage Notes: She was born on May 29, 1732 in Perkiomen, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They had Christian Treichler, Isaac, Henry and Mary who was born March 22, 1772.
