George Fox, a son of Jonas and Susan (Bruner) Fox, was born in Essex County, Ontario, Canada in 1822 and died on North Bass Island, Ottawa County Ohio February 13, 1908. He married Sarah Jane Mills. Sarah, a daughter of William Mills and Martha, was born in 1826 and died in 1905.
The family moved from Essex County to East Saginaw, Michigan in November 1852. In 1862, they moved to North Bass Island in Ottawa County Ohio.

Isaac Russell Fox, a son of George and Sarah Jane (Mills) Fox, was born in Essex County, Ontario, Canada October 6, 1843 and die in Kanawha County WV November 7, 1814. He moved with his family to East Saginaw, MI in November 1852 and to North Bass Island, Ottawa County Ohio in 1862.
Isaac was naturalized a US citizen in Erie County Ohio October 28, 1868. He was listed in the 1870 Ottawa County Ohio census as a blacksmith.
Isaac married Sarah Emma Katherine Kyer in Roane County WV November 9, 1880. Sarah, a daughter of John D. and Martha J. "Bertha" (O'Flaherty) Kyer, was born in Roane County November 26, 1862 and died there April 21, 1893.
