Joseph James Malott

  Noted events in his life were:

• Education. I received the education and rearing of a farmer's boy.

• Property. After reaching my majority, I purchased 200 acres of bush land in Mersea Township. I built a log house on my land and began to cultivate the land. I had the satisfaction of knowing that as old age creeped upon me that my sons and I had cleared 125 acres advancing its value. A portion of the estate was laid out in fruit trees.

Joseph married Barbara Fox, daughter of Jonas Fox and Susannah Bruner, on 5 Oct 1820 in Gosfield Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. (Barbara Fox was born in Oct 1802 in Mersea Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada, died on 27 Apr 1880 in Mersea Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada and was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Learnington, Ontario, Canada.)
