• Biography. Johann Ludwig Bastron was of reformed faith. His was a stocking weaver from Budingen, Germany. Arrived in Oranienbaum, Russia ( not far from Saint Petersburg) 0n September 15, 1766 by the ship " Johannes ". They arrived in Frank, Russia in 1767.
The 1798 Census of Frank, Russia has the last name spelled "Pastronin". It also shows that Johann Ludwig had the following: 3 Workers, 9 horses, 15 cows, 11 sheep, 6 swine, 7 geese, and 7 ducks.
