Noted events in his life were: • Immigration, 1893. • Biography. German immigrants at the invitation of Catherine-the Great of Russia populated the village of Frank. It is believed that many of the original settlers were from the Hessen area of Germany, in the 1760's. Russia needed more people and more agricultural production. She also believed Russia could benefit from German orderliness and industry. Source: National Geographic September 1998 Conrad married Katharina Margaretha Stroh, daughter of Heinrich Stroh and Maria Dorothea Wacker, in 1872.
