Hendrick Van Bommel

  Noted events in his life were:

• Occupation: Town Crier. It was my responsibility to see that the community was at peace during the daytime by keeping the Indians and African Americans at peace with the white folk. I also had to ensure that gaming wasn't occurring in the village and that the taverns were selling their liquor according to the law.

Hendrick married Rachel Truax, daughter of Phelippe Antoine Du Trieux and Susanna Du Chesne, on 30 Sep 1656 in New Albany, New York. (Rachel Truax was born about 1635 in New Amsterdam, New Netherland.)
