Margie at Virginia Dale – June 1959

Celebrating Margie’s birthday on September 29th, I want to share this video treasure from 1959. Sunday afternoons were our favorite time to take a drive to the mountains just west of Fort Collins. On this Sunday afternoon in June, we went to a church picnic at Virginia Dale, just south of the Wyoming state line. We had just graduated from high school. I captured this scene of Miss Margaret Anne Buchanan with my $15 Kodak Brownie movie camera as she went wading in the rippling stream. Watching this, I treasure the memories of that time, her beauty, adventure, caring… all symbolic of her future gifts our family. Happy Birthday Margie!
